Our Eco Council is a new addition to our school this year and we are already working towards our Bronze Eco Award.

The Council has looked at the 10 environmental areas set out by Eco Schools and they found that we were very good at the following:

TRANSPORT - Finding more environmentally friendly ways to travel.
BIODIVERSITY - Caring for all plants, animals and insects.
SCHOOL GROUNDS - Enhancing where they work and play.

They presented their findings to the whole school, and our Borough Councillor was also present to oversee this. He was really impressed with their assembly.

We will continue to develop key areas which include: Litter, Marine and Energy.

The Eco Council decided that to address our priorities they will:

• Start litter picking in school
• Litter picking in the local area
• Introduce an Eco suggestion box for the school

We have worked closely with our Clean Neighbourhood Officer at Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and now have regular litter picking in our school.

We encourage everyone to turn off the lights, taps and computers around the school and make sure all our classes recycle paper, plastic bottles and batteries.

We also work closely with Teej at COG Youth Service and now recycle pens and crisp packets.
